Application plug-ins can be run seamlessly within HP Web Jetadmin 10.0, allowing LAN Administrators to manage their printing environment from one application — HP Web Jetadmin.
HP Web Jetadmin 10.0 IP Security Plug-in
This plug-in supports IPsec policy configuration (supported devices) through HP Web Jetadmin. Internet Protocol (IP) traffic to and from a device can be managed by configuration of an IPsec policy (Internet Protocol security, RFC 2401) on the device. Through an IPsec policy, IP traffic can be processed or discarded, and processed traffic can be protected by IPsec authentication and encryption protocols. Using HP Web Jetadmin, you can configure an IPsec policy and then apply it to one or more selected devices. An IPsec policy may be configured on devices containing HP Jetdirect print servers that support this feature. HP Web Jetadmin provides Application Update features allowing installation of update packages. These updates can include additional functionality, device support, service patches, language support, more. When HP Web Jetadmin has http access to the Internet it can display available update packages directly in the Application Update user interface. These updates can be installed without having to actually visit hp.com. Sometimes connection to http://www.hp.com from HP Web Jetadmin is not possible. All HP Web Jetadmin software is available at the HP Web Jetadmin Software and Drivers Downloads pages (on http://www.hp.com/go/webjetadmin_software). Once packages are downloaded to a desktop, they can be uploaded through the HP Web Jetadmin client and then installed through Application Update.

As new HP devices are introduced, HP Web Jetadmin can be updated to support these devices. Updates allow you to acquire new device functionality without the need to re-qualify or retest the application.
