Process Resource Manager - Patches / support

Patches are given in the tables below. Each HP-UX version has its own table, organized by PRM version.

Before installing patches

1.   Read each patch's installation instructions

Each patch comes with a .txt file named using the patch number. For example, patch PHSS_26845 has a file named PHSS_26845.txt. Be sure to read the "Special Installation Instructions" section of the .txt file for each patch you are going to install.

2.    Shut down PRM:

After installing patches

Restart PRM:

Install all these patches at the same time.

These patches help ensure each job within a FSS-based PRM group gets a more equal share of the group's entitlement than it would under HP-UX semantics.

• Certain PRM MIBs using snmpwalk are not printed, or they output incorrect information
• prmlist –m output shows incorrect memory values when using WLM

Required hardware enablement patches for all HP-UX 11i workstations and servers

Install all these patches at the same time.

These patches:

• Preserve allocations in cases where a PRM group with a large allocation and just enough jobs to get that allocation could be outperformed by a smaller allocation group with more jobs
• Improve performance of I/O-based applications when the Fair-Share Scheduler (FSS) is enabled
