HP-UX 11i v3 (HP-UX 11.31) is the latest version of HP-UX 11i that has been certified at Common Criteria EAL4
The HP-UX 11i v3 operating system has received common criteria certification at the EAL 4 assurance level against Controlled Access (CAPP) and Role-Based Access Control (RBACPP) Protection Profiles. Many enterprises and governments require this vendor-independent security certification because it increases confidence in the product's security functionality, quality, and effectiveness. Many governments, including the United States, require certification for government IT procurement. Security features are integrated into the HP-UX 11i operating system to enable customers using technology within the HP Integrity server family to meet today's compliance requirements.
HP-UX 11i Protected Systems Web Server (PS-Webserver) is designed to mitigate risk and provide a highly secure web server environment by using compartmented applications to isolate customer facing web processing from internal databases, files and applications. This system combines HP-UX 11i Apache-based Web Server with HP-UX 11i Security Containment and other built-in security features to reduce security risks, lower TCO through automated and integrated security features, and improve time to market for secure web serving.
HP-UX 11i encrypted volume and file system (EVFS) is an operating system service that fills the compliance need to store files in a way that they cannot be read by unauthorized parties who obtain physical access to storage. This is accomplished through the encryption of data on a per-volume basis. Files and databases from current applications can be encrypted without changes to the application. The storage media including tape and disk supported by the HP-UX 11i operating environment can be used without modification to store the encrypted files and databases. Use of EVFS is simple and reduces the threat of data compromise while protected by EVFS in an encrypted form.
HP-UX Software Assistant is an enhanced application that replaces HP-UX Security Patch Check. It analyzes all HP-issued Security Bulletins and lists recommended actions that may apply to a specific HP-UX system. It can also download patches and create a depot automatically.
New HP-UX AAA Server version 7.0 now provides configurable SQL-based database interfaces, and multiserver shared session management capabilities for greater flexibility and high availability.
