Webcast description

HP Caliper is a powerful performance analysis tool for examining both application and system performance on HP Integrity systems. This talk provides an overview of HP Caliper’s capabilities and an in-depth look at new features introduced in HP Caliper versions 4.2 and 4.3. These features include:

  • Analyzing how data cache misses are serviced in the memory hierarchy (L2, L3, local c2c, cell local memory, etc.)
  • Recording system call usage of measured processes
  • Wall-clock sampling of call stacks, showing both where applications are blocked and CPU intensive
  • Measuring the effect of HyperThreading on application performance (for dual-core Itanium 2 systems)
  • Measuring the effect of traps, interrupts, and faults (for dual-core Itanium 2 systems)

Agenda

The content of this Webcast is delivered according to the following agenda:

  • Quick overview of HP Caliper
  • New features in HP Caliper 4.2 and 4.3
  • New graphical user interface (GUI) features
