Webcast description

This course provides an introduction to HPjmeter, a tool that helps monitor and analyze the performance of Java applications running on HP-UX.  HPjmeter provides real-time monitoring of Java applications, along with in-depth offline profiling analysis and Java heap analysis.

Agenda

The content of this Webcast is delivered according to the following agenda:

  • Overview of HPjmeter
  • New features in HPjmeter 3.0
  • Recipes for diagnosing problems using real-time monitoring and profiling
  • Java heap analysis

Audience

This Webcast is intended for software developers who develop applications on HP-UX and for and system administrators responsible for managing them.  HPjmeter is a powerful tool that can help diagnose runtime problems for Java applications and provide guidance in solving them.

Objectives

After viewing this webcast, a developer should understand the basic concepts of HPjmeter.  The user should have a general idea of how to use the tool to monitor a Java application and how to perform offline analysis with profiling and Java heap data.  Specific examples are provided to help guide the user in determining which information to use in diagnosing different classes of problems.
