This Webcast’s objectives are to explain the performance, scalability and functionality enhancements in HP-UX 11i v3 to aid HP-UX 11i users in their planning for upgrading existing systems and new deployments and help general UNIX users understand the performance and scalability aspects of ‘why HP-UX 11i v3’.

Speaker biography

Curt Thiem manages the HP-UX 11i Performance and Scalability R&D team in the HP Enterprise UNIX Division. This team is responsible for ensuring that the performance and scalability of HP-UX is attractive and improves from release to release. In part, the team uses and publishes a variety of commercial performance benchmarks to accomplish this. Curt has worked in HP-UX performance R&D since the HP-UX 11.0 release and in HP-UX R&D since the 10.20 release. He has prior experience in UNIX systems R&D and product marketing. Curt has degrees from MIT in mechanical and electrical engineering and an MBA.
 
Santosh Rao is the HP-UX 11i Storage Stack Architect in the Enterprise Unix Division (EUD) at Hewlett Packard. He is responsible for the architecture and feature roadmap for the HP-UX 11i v3 IO/Storage Stack. Santosh has been with HP since 1998. During this time, he has been involved in the development of various mass storage technologies including Fibre Channel, iSCSI, Multi-Pathing, storage drivers.  Prior to joining HP, Santosh worked at Wipro Global R&D. In this role, he was involved in development efforts on Solaris and UNIX SVR4 MP-RAS Operating Systems for NCR.
