- The original HP-UX 11i OEs (FOE, EOE, MCOE) are no longer available for
HP-UX 11i v3. HP-UX 11i v1 & v2 ship in the original OE packages.

HP ships HP-UX 11i v3 in four OEs that deliver complete software environments
designed to address specific customer requirements. These OEs, which began
shipping in March 2008, are available only for HP-UX 11i v3 on HP 9000 and HP
Integrity servers.

v3 Data Center OE (DC-OE) |

The Data Center OE delivers built-in
business-critical virtualization, featuring HP Serviceguard failover clusters,
HP's leadership virtualization software for partitioning, virtual machine
management, workload management, capacity planning, and the complementary
software to ensure uninterrupted and optimized data center technology. DC-OE
delivers the superset of HP-UX 11i v3 software included in the other OEs.

HP-UX 11i v3 High
Availability OE (HA-OE) |

For customers requiring continuous access to data
and applications, the HA-OE delivers the failover cluster protection of
Serviceguard—the most widely used cluster software in the industry—and related
software, plus all the software in Base OE. GlancePlus PAK is included for
system performance analysis, plus OnlineJFS and MirrorDisk/UX for virtually
unlimited file system and volume expansion.

HP-UX 11i v3 Virtual Server
OE (VSE-OE) |

The VSE-OE is designed for customers seeking
higher resource utilization or who are embarking on consolidation projects and
need virtualization for a flexible UNIX® environment. The VSE-OE contains all
the products included in the BOE plus partitioning, virtual machine management,
workload management, capacity planning, and system performance analysis with
GlancePlus PAK, plus OnlineJFS and MirrorDisk/UX for virtually unlimited file
system and volume expansion.

The BOE provides an integrated HP-UX operating
environment for customers requiring less complex installations. The Base OE
offers complete HP-UX functionality including security, networking, Web
functionality, and system and software management applications.
