Audience

This Webcast is intended for IT professionals – both software developers and system administrators – who want to understand HP-UX 11i virtualization software.

Objectives

This Webcast’s objective is to help HP-UX 11i system administrators and software developers understand virtualization technologies so they can deploy the technology to their advantage, and where appropriate, deploy for their customers and end users.

Applications that work on an HP-UX 11i system will work in partitions on HP-UX 11i the exact same way.  Because there are no special programming requirements for applications to work in virtualized environments with HP-UX 11i, developers’ interest is  primarily for their own use in test/dev systems and for awareness and confidence needed when the applications are deployed in partitions for end users.

Speaker's biography

Jacob Van Ewyk travels the world working with customers, the HP sales force, and the development labs to understand the best ways to apply virtualization and HP Integrity server technologies to solve customer business issues.

Before taking his current role, Jacob was the Product Marketing Manager for HP Workload Management Products for HP-UX 11i and HP Integrity Servers.

As the product manager for Process Resource Manager, HP-UX Workload Manager, and HP Integrity Essentials Global Workload Manager, he worked very closely with the marketing and lab teams of other VSE technologies such as Virtual Partitions, HP Integrity Virtual Machines, HP Serviceguard, Instant Capacity, Temporary Instant Capacity, and many other teams.
